Just sharing with you guys some of my essentials for the new year- but amongst all of “my material things” is my favorite purchase of the year; a book about material. I think I may have the biggest girl crush on Stephanie Lacava. Her book, An Extraordinary Theory of Objects, was such an inspirational read. I feel all of us can relate to her in some ways. Her story is about coming of age in a foreign country and how she deals with feeling like an outcast by finding beauty in strange yet beautiful objects. Makes me want to take a second look at all of the beauty we sometimes miss in this fast paced world!
Anyway, just get the book….I promise you, it won’t disappoint!

My friend Molly, and I met up today to see our friend Nadia, and had a late lunch at The Corner(corner of Highland and Lexington). After our delicious caprese sandwiches we stopped by The Next Door Lounge, which is a MUST SEE for all L.A. locals and visitors. This lounge was inspired by the 1920s glamour of “old Hollywood”. The decadence is met with a very warm casual feel.
This basque that I am wearing works for so many different occasions, like a day out with the girls. I dressed it down today with blue jeans and a structured top, so it didn’t look so formal.

San Diego will always have a special place in my heart. I am honestly so happy to be back for a week with my family. It is also starting to feel like Fall here and I am so stoked! I made myself a pumpkin spice latte in honor of the chilly/crisp weather!
Hope you guys are having a good week.
